Brief History and Service Philosophy
A trusted partner to organizations since 1981 BMA was founded in 1981 by Dr. Joel R. Gecht, who serves as the firm’s President and CEO. Under his leadership, BMA has developed into one of the largest and strongest people management and development consulting firms serving national, regional, and local individuals and organizations. BMA offers an experienced staff of behavioral health professionals, trainers, coaches, and organizational development specialists who have breadth and depth of capabilities in understanding human and organizational behavior. Most of the staff has been with the firm since its early years. This gives BMA’s clients the security, consistency, and reliability of working with professionals who are familiar with their businesses and their people. Driven by a philosophy of excellence Being an independent, closely held corporation, BMA is free to focus on one thing: creating lasting and valuable partnerships with employers. These relationships serve to maximize productivity, reduce risks and exposures, and decrease costs. We work with executive leadership, management, and human resource professionals on a personal level. We are responsive and responsible for maintaining trust in the quality of our care. A single source for a comprehensive offering of services BMA features quality-driven, customized services in the areas of Employee Assistance, Work/Life, Wellness, Coaching, Team and Leadership Enhancement, Training, Pre-Employment Assessment, Succession Planning, and Organizational Development. Responsive to our clients’ desire for single-source, cost-effective solutions to their people management and development needs, we created service and delivery options that unite to blend the ideal formula for success, both in the form of measurable results and return on investment. Our people management and development services are not a sideline to a larger business. Our allegiance to you and our ability to provide outstanding services do not change in a world of mergers and takeovers that has compromised the quality of care in the behavioral health and organizational development consulting industries. BMA has experience in diverse organizations, large and small, including banks, manufacturers, hospitals and healthcare facilities, insurance companies, law firms, universities and school systems, and government agencies. Our services are customized for each employer and dynamically adjust to their changing needs.
Aside from our delivery of services to organizations, BMA also provides counseling and assessment, personal coaching, and seminars for individuals. And, we have developed creative approaches to benefit the community. As an example, we developed Parent College™. This unique program offers school systems the opportunity to provide an in-depth, customized series of skill development seminars for parents of students ranging from elementary school through high school. In short, we are unmatched by any other people management and development firm. We are large enough to offer a full range of capabilities yet small enough to care about each employer and individual we serve. It is our motto and pledge: we are people helping people work for you, before personal problems impact productivity. And, we are: Big enough to do it all . . . Yet, small enough to do it right!
